What's a Packager all about?

Our Packagers are the dedicated team responsible for hand portioning and packaging our healthy, freshly cooked meals on a daily basis. Shifts begin around 6:30a/7:00a - hello early birds! - in order to stock our three store locations everyday. Their main duties are:
-learn & retain detailed measurements of meal items to be packaged
-efficiently use kitchen tools to make precise measurements
-effectively/quickly navigate and maintain work & cooler space to ensure maximum production flow
-focus within an energetic & fast paced environment
-roll with change, keep a positive attitude and enjoy their work

Who do we hire as Packagers?
-Previous experience in dietary, nutrition, food preparation/service preferred
-Work history of success with fast pace environments, reliability, initiative and team orientation.
-Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, stoop, reach and carry/lift up to 25 lbs unassisted.

PART-TIME Store Associates work approximately 20-25 hours/week dependent on seasonality. FULL-TIME Store Associates work approximately 30-43 hours/week dependent on seasonality.

Scheduling requirements include availability to work a combination of week and weekend shifts. Flexibility to work at any of our three stor locations (Chesterfield, Brentwood, Creve Coeur) based on business need is also required. All store associates are cross trained and expected to work at The Smoothie Bar as needed inside the fit-flavors Creve Coeur store.

What’s a Store Associate all about?

Our Customers: Store Associates are also our “Front of House” (FOH) staff because they are the first people customers see when walking in store. FOH is the knowledge expert on all things fit-flavors – always attentive and always helpful whether it’s a customer’s first visit or 50th.

Our Store Associates set the bar for customer service, and we work as a team to make that happen. Great customer service = Wow! factor by providing the customer with something unexpected while knowing they are empowered to make the call, address concerns and continue to build customer loyalty.

Our Meals: In addition to maintaining this level of customer service, Store Associate team members are charged with carefully attending to our inventory – the meals we stock in our coolers several times a day. Store Associates are responsible for organizing, counting & continuously monitoring meal stock as the last step in our high level of quality control before sale.

Our Store: Our team of Store Associates is responsible for maintaining a clean and inviting storefront appearance. This includes ensuring supplies are stocked for store operations and any needs or issues communicated to the Store Manager.

fit-flavors seeks a creative, self-driven Pastry Chef on a full-time basis. If baking is your passion this could be the position for you! The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience with desserts and baked goods in a high production environment as well as recipe creation.

The ability to work autonomously creating product and ensuring production flow meets schedule is a must!

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare a wide variety of baked goods and treats adhering to fit-flavors proprietary recipes

  • Produce baked goods and treats for each store location based on projected numbers and delivery dates

  • Produce baked good and treats for events and cater-outs

  • Ensure all goods produced are uniform and tested for quality

  • Self-direct daily work flow to ensure tasks are accomplished efficiently and daily production deadlines met

  • Manage set up, cleanliness and organization of baking workstation at all times adhering to health and safety standards at all times

  • Monitor and order supplies/ingredients required for production

  • Work with Executive and Registered Dietitian to create new recipes in line with fit-flavors nutritional philosophy

  • Provide culinary team support in down time, working other stations as needed

  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends in baking with natural and healthy ingredients

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years pastry professional experience, at a high production level

  • Consistent and precise baking skills

  • Working knowledge of baking with and recipe manipulation using gluten-free flours, coconut flour, protein powders, nut butters, healthy fats and natural sweeteners as well as such ingredient limitations.

  • Demonstrated ability to meet production deadlines while working autonomously and self-directing work tasks / pace

  • Proven success to handle multiple tasks simultaneously that require attention to detail

  • Excels in a fast paced work environment

  • Utilizes a highly organized work style and approach

  • Experience with costing and ordering of supplies / ingredients for production

  • Proficient in overall culinary skill to help kitchen team members in down time

  • Clear, effective, friendly communicator able to collaborate with others

  • Knowledgeable of sanitation guidelines and requirements

What's a Delivery Driver all about?

Our Drivers are the dedicated team members responsible for delivering our packaged meals to our locations as well as deliver customer orders around the greater St. Louis area. Shifts begin around 9 AM in order to deliver the freshly prepared meals to their locations in a timely manner.

Full- time 40-45 hours a week. Position is located at our flagship store in Chesterfield! Availability to work both weekday and weekend shifts required.

What's Distribution all about?

The distribution team is responsible for labeling and packaging all meals and snacks to be sent to the fit-flavors retail locations and homes/offices around the greater St. Louis area.

Our Distribution Supervisor is dedicated to the packaging and labeling team and responsible for sorting and managing our meal inventory on a daily basis.

Shifts are 7:30/8:00 am - 3:30/4:00 pm. You will work to stock our three store locations, Mercy Hospital, and fill home and office delivery orders each day. In production we work until the job is completed.

The main duties of the Distribution Supervisor are:

  • Managing the day to day distribution 5 days/week and working closely with your sub-person on day 6. (We are closed for production one day/week, but as the supervisor you’re responsible for your 6th day sub-person who fills in for your roll on your day off.)

  • Responsible for working on the computer several hours/day with Google docs and sheets, organizing and managing the inventory across multiple retail locations.

  • Working hand and hand with the owner, Jillian, daily to ensure inventory is correct and she understands what is going on in your department.

  • Managing our Mercy Hospital account: Inventory/Spoilage/Projections/Monthly reports to CPA. This is a very small part of our business but needs supervision 5-6 days a week.

  • Managing large order account logistics and communication with external contacts.

  • End of Month Inventory Count for the entire company to submit to the CPA

  • Working with our online platform (shopify) to process orders for home/office deliveries.

  • Staff scheduling: Working with the Executive Chef to best staff drivers and packagers based on production numbers and home/office deliveries.

  • Overseeing all orders are filled and delivered properly and on time. You are responsible for the time management of the entire department.

  • Learn & retain detailed measurements of meal items to be packaged.

  • Efficiently use kitchen tools to make precise measurements to portion and package meals.

  • Quickly and effectively navigate and maintain work & cooler space to ensure maximum production flow.

  • Easily adapt and consistently maintain standards and processes required within a food production work environment.

  • Innovate to create faster, more efficient processes.
