We’ve all heard the phrase “you are what you eat.” But did you know that proper nutrition can help you be more productive in life? The food you put into your body has a direct effect on your energy levels, focus, and overall productivity. I truly believe you can eat your way to more productivity.
It’s also important to watch out for certain foods that could be having an adverse effect on your productivity. Foods high in sugar or carbohydrates may give us an initial boost of energy but can cause us to crash shortly after eating them. Additionally, processed foods tend to be low in nutrients and often contain unhealthy ingredients like trans fats or preservatives which can make it harder for our bodies to absorb essential vitamins and minerals. You also may digest some foods better than others and this all depends on each individual. You have to find what works for you and the best way to do this is experiment and to notice how you feel. For a long time, I couldn’t eat almonds because they made me bloated. When I realized that bloat was leading to fatigue, I switched to a nut mix that didn’t have almonds (turns out, that was hard to find by the way). When you pay attention to how the food you eat makes you feel, you will be so much more productive because you will be more comfortable!
